Believe it or not, I’ve lived on the West Coast for about 11 years and had never been north of San Fransisco….until last weekend! I had long wanted to check out Oregon, so when Salishan Resort
invited Nate and I up for a weekend getaway, you know I jumped at the chance! If you are looking for a getaway that is equal parts relaxing and adventurous with plenty of natural beauty, keep reading, because I’ve also got a special discount code for you to get Moore Adventure for Less Money! 😉
Salishan is located on the central Oregon Coast. To get there, we flew from LAX to PDX and then rented a car…its about a 2.5 hr drive from Portland, but the drive is an adventure in and of itself…on the way to your destination you’ll pass tons of wineries, farm land, and forest….its an incredibly scenic drive! When we finally arrived at Salishan, we were welcomed by their incredible staff…everyone there really made us feel so welcome and right at home. When it comes to customer service, they killed it!
Upon checking in, we had to check out our digs for the weekend. They were super spacious, and we had such an incredible view of the water. I loved the high ceilings but also the coziness of the fireplace. The rocking chairs were the perfect touch on the balcony and we definitely enjoyed our fair share of wine out there!
Salishan Resort is also offers incredible dining experiences! You can choose from several locations on site, such as their formal dining room (make reservations!) the Sunroom (which offers breakfast and dinner), and the Attic Lounge, where you can grab lunch or dinner and also late night drinks and live music on Friday nights! I especially enjoyed their clams…the broth was to die for and I basically drank it…don’t judge me! They also have such an incredible selection of Oregon wines to sip on.
After getting settled in, we were treated to a little tour of the property in this super dope Land Rover from the 60’s…apparently its the only one in the US that still runs. Its definitely an incredible photo opp!
If you love the outdoors and adventure, Salishan Resort is an amazing destination for that! This resort has more than 2 miles of hiking trails in and around the property. If you’ve never experienced Oregon forests before, let me just say, they are magical! They also have this insanely fun Aerial Park where you can take your adventure to the the next level. Hooked in with a harness, you are free to climb up and around the tree tops and challenge yourself with various different aerial courses. It may seem scary at first, but you’ll find that the time goes by way too quickly, its a ton of fun!
If relaxation is more your speed, Salishan Resort has that for you as well! Their spa is truly a luxurious escape! In true Oregon fashion, the spa is built into the natural surroundings of the coast and offers some beautiful views while you unwind and relax. I got to experience one of their 1 hour relaxation massages and it was just what the doctor ordered! I loved all the amenities, including the hot tub, saunas, and their hearth room, which is a great place to sit and relax or read a book!
You can’t come to the Oregon Coast without at least dipping your toes in! Salishan Resort has their own private access beach where you can enjoy the coastline without the crowds. Each time we went, there were almost no other humans around and it was amazing!
Nothing tops off the end of the day like S’mores! Salishan has bonfire experiences both on their property and on the beaches so you can make your own delicious S’mores under the stars. I like to think I’m a pretty good S’mores maker myself!
If all of the above sounds like just the type of getaway you are looking for, I’ve got great news for you: if you use the code MOORE, you can get 33% off a 3-day stay! Now that’s Moore like it 😉 If you want to see more of what we did at our time at Salishan, make sure you also watch my vlog where I documented the entire experience!
