Ok, I never thought I would ever say this, but I am digging this mom jeans thing! If you would have told my former 13-year-old, hip-hugger loving self that I would voluntarily wear these high-waisted babies, I’d probably be completely horrified. In my mind, nothing could be worse or more gross than wearing something high-waisted or resembling anything that my mom might wear. Over the years of wearing low waisted jeans, I have started to change my mind. Here’s why I have a new found love-affair with the mom-jean:
- They’re just so flattering! You can’t possibly suffer from the dreaded muffin top in these things because they should hit you at your natural waist.
- They’re comfortable. This also goes along with the lack of muffin top. I literally can’t stand when I’m sitting down and I know there is some MAJOR lower back showing. #crackkills. The mom jean will never present you with this issue!
- They’re classic. As much as I don’t like to, I’m going to admit it: the moms were on to something with these pants. Pants that actually are universally flattering and work on so many levels are something that will stand the test of time, even if the test of time means that the masses decided to all wear low-rise jeans for a couple years.
In all honesty, I have to disclose that these are technically not “mom jeans,” but girlfriend jeans, according to Urban Outfitters. I have been searching for those perfect, vintage Levi jeans that every street style it girl seems to have a pair of, but until then, I found these and seriously love them! They are breaking in super perfectly and I couldn’t ask for more in a jean. I am really considering grabbing these in all the other colors they come in because I’m that obsessed!

Beautiful outfit! I’d love to try mom jeans, but I’m just not sure they’d suit me. They look amazing on you! The no muffin top benefit, is definitely swaying me though haha.
