Ok, perhaps I am using “military-inspired neutrals” a little loosely here, but bear with me. As soon as I threw this look on, my friend Lee of LegalLee Blonde Blog exclaimed, “You look just like a female Che Guevara!” So, from that moment on, I guess this look was “military inspired”! I guess if you think about it, one of the main functions of military uniforms is to blend in with one’s surroundings, so if that’s the qualification we are going for here, I am DEFINITELY blending in with my Beverly Hills Hotel surroundings, don’t you think?! I guess you can just go ahead and sign me up for Troop Beverly Hills 😉
As much as I love to sport some trends, something I always go back to are the classics. This shirt and skirt combo has been a go-to for me lately because its such an easy thing to throw on, and because it is so neutral, you can accessorize it any way you like. I’ve changed this look up with pumps and girly accessories for a dressier look, and also work this skirt with sneakers to make it more casual. Basic staples like a striped shirt and an olive green skirt are just absolute must-have’s in your wardobe because of their sheer versatility. To keep things interesting, let your fun and quirky accessories take center stage. This straw bag was on heavy rotation last summer and I know its going to be something I use again and again this coming season.
