Who would’ve thought that I’d be giving 4th of July vibes while in Paris? I mean, you could technically also just call it French vibes since their flag is the same colors…just sayin’! While the weather was constantly threatening to rain, it never really did…so this trench coat was a bit of an unnecessary item in my already wayyyy too heavy suitcase. I wasn’t too mad about it, since you really can’t go wrong with a trench coat. Ok, I guess I should say I wasn’t mad about it until the next time I had to haul my suitcase up another flight of stairs! Note to everyone out there…you don’t need as much as you think you do! Your back will thank you later!
This outfit is pretty simple, but sometimes when you’re out sightseeing, simple is what you need! I took a risk with my feet and wore these shoes for a pop of color…I only got two blisters so I would call that a win!
These photos were taken at Luxembourg Gardens, which is such a beautiful place to go and relax, people watch, and apparently sail a toy sailboat! When my friend and I arrived, there was an orchestra playing music in a large covered gazebo, so we grabbed some espresso and just enjoyed that for a minute. Honestly, I could’ve sat on a park bench for here for hours. These gardens are filled with beautiful landscaping and statues, not to mention the gorgeous Luxembourg Palace.

One place that is a must-see in Paris is the Louvre Museum. The museum is in the former palace of French royalty, so the actual building itself is gorgeous and impressive, not to mention the insane amount of art housed within it. I would recommend giving yourself AT LEAST half a day, if not a full day to visit this museum. When visiting the Louvre, I have a couple of words of advice from my experience there:
- Get your tickets in advance! You do not want to wait in the long line of tourists waiting to buy a ticket, because waiting in lines is in general a huge buzz kill to anyone’s vacation, am I right?2. Don’t go in the main entrance! There is a lesser known entrance underground that will have much less of wait. Here is how you get to this entrance, because it is not the easiest to find: If you’re taking the metro, get off at the Palais Royale Musee du Louvre stop. Next, find the underground shopping mall, Carrousel du Louvre, and walk past all the lovely shops. The entrance to the museum is not hard to find once you’re inside this mall. My friend and I had literally no waiting time, and as we already had our tickets, we practically walked in.3. Get a map, because this place is massive! You will want to plan your visit by finding the key things you want to see, because it would probably be pretty hard to see this entire museum in a day. My friend and I had to go see this chick because you know, she’s pretty famous…
- 4. Definitely check out Napoleon’s apartments, because he had some pretty sweet digs. I wonder where I can get one of those chandeliers?!5. Don’t miss the Tuileries! They are so much fun to walk through and they contain some awesome statues and sculptures.
But most of all, make sure you top off your day with some cool rose and a box of macarons from Laudree!
