So, I have been living in my sweats lately. More specifically, I’ve been living in my sweats, leggings, joggers…basically anything comfy lately. There once was a time when this was frowned upon by fashionistas, but not anymore! The athleisure trend has been going strong for a couple years now and that is such good news for me. Seriously, if I could sum my current life up in emoji’s, it would go like this: 😩😬🙈😤☕️☕️☕️. I’m halfway through week 8 of 10 of winter quarter at school and let me tell you, things are getting rough. Between keeping up with my classes and assignments, work, and wanting to do so much more with my blog and not having the time, I just feel like I’m in a constant state of stress and exhaustion. I’m trying my best to stay super focused and keep my eyes on the prize: Spring Break! In the meantime, I’m fully embracing this Sporty Spice look because it is so easy yet cool.
If you’re a little hesitant to go full on athleisure, I get it. There was once a time that I really resisted this trend. For me, sports clothing was for the gym and the gym only, and wearing track pants with heels seemed like craziest thing ever. I am here to tell you that this is actually not as hard to pull off as you might think. In fact, pairing heels with track pants can actually elevate the look and give it a more sophisticated feel. Heels keep the look from looking frumpy, which was one of my main complaints about this trend. My suggestion is to make your heels an unexpected color. Here, they make this black and white outfit pop, but if your outfit involves color, choose a heel in a contrasting color for maximum impact.
