If there’s one thing I learned about dressing with a little French girl flair, it is to always go understated. I have had my eye out for a while now for a Chanel-inspired jacket like this one, so when I spotted this baby on one of my favorite budget-friendly sites Make Me Chic, I immediately snagged it. Upon receiving the jacket, however, I got a little intimidated by the sort of…stuffy vibe that it gives off. While I did sport this on election day because it seemed oh-so-appropriate at the time, I wasn’t quite sure how to style it for my actual life, because I normally don’t wear blazers that seem to scream for a strand of pearls. I finally decided to literally ignore the stuffy factor going on here and just throw it on over jeans and a graphic t-shirt…and I think it worked! This once very casual outfit now is a little bit elevated thanks to this jacket, and this jacket gets toned down a little bit in the meantime, so it is truly a great combination in my opinion.
