As I uploaded the pictures for this post, I couldn’t help but be a little sad that I am not in Paris right now! One of my favorite aspects about being in Paris and being abroad in general is the fact that you basically walk everywhere. I loved just wandering the streets of Paris without any agenda or place to be, because you find something so amazing and different around every corner. One thing I loved doing there was shopping these old arcades, which are basically semi-outdoor corridors filled with shops. This is the sort of thing we don’t have here in the United States, so I kind of loved window shopping here.
One thing you will be seeing a lot of in my travel posts is this purse. I bought it especially for this trip, because I wanted to have a fashionable yet secure bag for my travels. One thing I came across again and again in my research for my trip was the fact that pickpockets are numerous across Europe, so it is important to have a bag that can safely store all your valuables. Many people opt for money belts and the like, however, the thought of having to wear something under my clothes sounded like the last thing I wanted to do. This bag was perfect because it fit pretty much my entire life….meaning my camera, an extra lens, a selfie stick, my wallet, my sunglasses, a water bottle, plus whatever else I needed to stow in there at any given moment. I love the fact that it has no outside pockets and the zipper closes everything up. I would’ve liked to see someone try to pickpocket me with this baby!

One of my favorite sites I visited in Paris was Notre Dame. This gothic cathedral is so beautiful, so believe me, these pictures unfortunately do not do it justice. One thing I found completely fascinating about Notre Dame is the fact that while the construction of this church began in 1163, the church continued to evolve over the years and still undergoes restorations to this day.
Admission to this beautiful church is free, but you can give a donation to the church once inside if you choose. When we got in the line to enter, it seemed super long, but the line really moved quickly.
One thing that completely blew me away about Notre Dame was the huge and incredibly detailed rose stained glass windows. I think I had even more appreciation for them because I conveniently took Art History last semester, so I had recent knowledge of the history and the work that went into these beauties.
I hope you enjoyed my second day in Paris! Make sure to tell me what you think in the comments below!
