One of the things I have had the most fun with, but also has caused me the most stress in my wedding planning process is finding THE DRESS. Honestly, it’s one of the most important things about my big day and I really want to make sure that the dress I choose makes me feel like an absolute queen. I mean, you only get to wear something this incredible one day in your life, right?! If you’ve been following along on my dress hunting journey via my Instagram and stories, you know I have been going all over Los Angeles searching for the right dress. As a bride on a budget, I don’t have an unlimited amount of money to spend on a dress, nor would I want to spend a small fortune on a dress I’m going to wear for one day, however, I just love the beautiful details that go into a designer dress. This was definitely a conundrum until I took a trip to David’s Bridal and discovered all the designer collections they carry at you-gotta-be-kidding me prices.
When I stopped in for my appointment, my consultant handed me a book full of all their designs and asked me to look through it and find some styles I wanted to try. I was amazed at how many designers have collections exclusively available at David’s Bridal: WHITE by Vera Wang, Truly Zac Posen, Jenny Packham, Galina Signature, Oleg Cassini, Melissa Sweet, and more! I was particularly excited to try on some dresses from the Vera Wang and Zac Posen collections because I have loved their designs for so long.
One thing that I loved about shopping at David’s Bridal is they really make you feel so comfortable and really go above and beyond to help you find what you want. My David’s Bridal consultant was so patient and really worked hard to find dresses that she thought I would like and was so willing to let me try on all different shapes and styles of dresses so that I could really see what style I liked best. I would’ve never thought that I would be so into a huge ballgown style like this Vera Wang dress, but it really made me rethink all the preconceived ideas I had about what I wanted in a wedding dress.
I mean, seriously, look at this detailing in the skirt! Who would have thought you could get a dress like this for less than $2000?
This Gallina Signature dress was so gorgeous and such a steal! I believe it was on sale for $500, which is an insane price for a dress with such beautiful detailing. I think it reminded me of my favorite ballet, Swan Lake, which is what drew me to it.
When I told my consultant that I wanted to maybe go for an old Hollywood glam feel, she suggested I try this Zac Posen sheath number. While I wouldn’t go for a sheath shape on my big day, it was really interesting to try on a style so wildly different from my vision and see how gorgeous it is. Plus, Zac Posen is one of my dream wedding designers, so the fact that you can get his amazing construction at such an attainable price is amazing. I really loved the back on this dress, it really reminded me of what a 1930’s starlet would wear.
Based on my reaction to this Zac Posen dress, my consultant grabbed several other styles from Zac Posen for me to try. I loved this mermaid style because the bottom was so dramatic. You gotta bring the drama on your big day, am I right?
My favorite dress I tried on was the last one, and it is a stunner! It is also a Zac Posen…surprise, surprise! One thing that actually surprised me was how much I loved this dress despite the fact that it has no sparkle or bling to it. I think the reason I still was so obsessed was just all the incredible details that give it that high-end couture look that I am after.
I mean, seriously, this dress is one of a kind and it blows my mind that it retails for less than $1200! I just can’t get over what a steal this beauty is!
I had such a great experience shopping at David’s Bridal, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of dress that you can get at such an exceptional value. I
honestly did not expect this and would highly recommend if you are a bride on a budget to start your wedding dress search at David’s, because you can save so much money on your gown but still get something that makes you feel beautiful. Their associates and staff are super helpful and knowledgeable and really will add so much to your experience in the store. You can actually make an appointment super easily online for the day and time that is best for you. While I haven’t made my final decision on my dress, that Zac Posen mermaid really has my eye, and I’m fairly certain I won’t find anything like that in my search for the price. I hope this round up has helped your wedding dress search in some way! It is both an exciting and stressful process to plan a wedding with juggling your budget while still wanting to have the wedding you dreamed of, so discovering these awesome designer finds at David’s Bridal was definitely eye opening for me.

Never waste your time or money shopping at David’s Bridal. Most rude, nasty, inconsiderate people (women) working at these store you can ever meet. I had an appointment and stopped in all excited and at the time wore a size 14 dress. They looked at me like I was trash, huge and too ugly to be shopping at there precious store. Told me everyone was busy and I would have to wait even though some much smaller and prettier women came in without an appointment and we cater to in a second. I asked if I could at least look around while I waited and was told “as long as I didn’t touch anything” with a hesitate and “don’t bother me” attitude. I left the place in tears feeling like I was the ugliest person on earth, no one tried to stop me even though several sales women stood together talking, NOT helping any customer. This place should be out of business for there blatant discrimination and what they did to me self esteem, made me not even care about a dress, just order one out of a catalog and hate it the whole time. HATE this store and would urge everyone to save your money and self esteem and unless you are a perfect size 0, shop elsewhere and be treated like a human being with feelings !

Jen, that’s horrible! I’m so so sorry that you had that experience. No one should be made to feel that way, ever. I hope that was an isolated incident, maybe the saleswomen at that store were just terrible? 😪
